The dashpot damper slows the rise of the suction piston to provide a momentary rich mixture on sharp acceleration. A missing, wrong, or worn damper causes flat spots and hesitation. It is essential that the correct part is fitted — dampers vary by carburettor type.

Fits: HS6 carburettors. Austin-Healey 3000, Triumph TR5/TR6, Jaguar.
